JULY 2022: TIME KEEPS TICKING, LEAVE THE BURDENS BEHIND
Welcome to the month of July 2022! Thank God, thank goodness. Who knew that we would get here? Faith, hope and love have carried us this far especially through the past months of the year and we are confident that we will go through those remaining. I know that there have been days when some of us felt like and indeed we were at the verge of collapsing or falling. But here we are, glory to God in the highest. May God strengthen the weak and restore hope for the hopeless.
My dear friend, you are highly appreciated. I am happy to be
sharing this life with you. I pray for you. Let us celebrate because this is
the day that we have as a gift from our Creator. Let us rejoice and be glad in
it according to Psalm 118:24.
I recently wrote an article https://mugisawrites.blogspot.com/2022/06/settlediscussion-human-rights-are.html
to the effect that human rights are enjoyed by the living, not the dead meaning
that as long as we still have breath, let us make it a point to enjoy our
natural entitlements such as the right to personal liberty, freedom from
torture and other forms of inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment; health,
live in a clean and healthy environment, among others.
The irony is that life is short and yet too long for those
who live it the right way. It is written in John
10:10 that the the devil comes to
steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came that we may have life and life in
abundance. Allow me invite us to the reality of living life one day at a
time and to full enjoyment which involves acknowledging God in all our ways as
per Proverbs 3:5-6 and surrendering
to his perfect will and guidance. We always pray and request that God’s will be
done here on earth as it is in heaven – that is it, may it be done.
In this month of July, let us get rid of the past and
anything that wants to take us back to our darkest realities. Each of us has a
blank page at the start of each day and more so at the start of the month.
There are things we wouldn’t want to move with into the days that follow. Let’s
wash them off compeletely. There are people we wouldn’t wish to go with on the
next journey, let us confess and help them understand why. There are burdens we
don’t wish to continue carrying, let us rid ourselves of the same. We must move
freely without hinderance. What we will have to carry along is a light bag
containing the fruit of the Holy Spirit that is love, joy, peace, patience or
long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.
All we need for life is herein contained.
Conclusively, let us continue carrying one another’s burdens
as written in Galatians 6:2 thereby
fulfilling the law of Christ. Friends, no person is an island and no one can
manage on their own. We need each other today and this month more than ever
before. Let us spread the message of love and respect for each other. Let us
empathise as much as possible and work towards equality and equity. The people
in positions of influence should use their status to make life easier and
better for all remembering that we are but sojourners. We are here today, we
will be somewhere else tomorrow. What legacy shall we leave for posterity?
It’s a new month; an opportunity to correct the mistakes of
the past and work towards being the best we can be, God being our helper.
