SEPTEMBER 2024 | SACRIFICE LEADS TO GAIN
JOHN
3:16
“FOR
GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON SO THAT
WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT DIE BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE”
Allow
me start this devotion with a question:
What is
it that you have sacrificed in your life? What is that one thing that you valued
so very much but for the sake of life, you gave it to someone else to save them
from death or from a very complex situation?
I am Robert
Mugisa Abwooli, the person who sat behind the computer or device to share this
message with you. I am so blessed and always blessed to listen to the inner
voice that tells me to do what I do, as long as it will bring a smile upon
someone’s life; as long as it will cause some comfort or discomfort to someone.
Yes, discomfort in a way that there are some people who may not wish to read or
listen to messages of devotion because they think it is a waste of time! To us
who are being saved daily, such messages are a plus to our faith and to our ability
to relate practically with the realities of life.
This
is the day that God has made. We will continue to rejoice and be glad in it
(Psalm 118:24). This is the month that God has brought us into and we shall
continue to rejoice and be glad in it. We thank God for our past, present and
future days. We can only trust Him to lead us through to the very end.
This
is a month where we will need to be more united as relatives (families), friends
and nation. There shall be no room for division among us except where we are
dividing up labour for purposes of diversification of work so that we can
advance together in life. It is a month where none of us will move if one of us
is not brought on board. We will have to ensure that the lazy ones among us are
encouraged to wake up and work so that they do not become a burden to anyone
along the way. We must all grow and advance together.
September
is a birth-month for many people. We wish them the very best of life and luck.
We pray that God shall continue to be their light in the darkness; to make a way
for them not just where there seems to be no way but even where there is no way
at all.
I am
mindful that there are people who have crossed over to September with quite challenging
situations. I know for sure that as a family of the Musanas, we are looking up
to God for Simon’s healing and deliverance. We are trusting God for a miracle,
a sign, a wonder. We know that he is God of all mankind and therefore nothing
is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:27). To us a human beings filled with flesh
and blood, somethings might seem too hard but with God, they are simple and
they are possible (Mathew 19:26). If there are people who can pray with us, let
us join hands and hearts to pray for this young man’s restoration.
We
will focus more, this month, on sacrifice. We must be able to sacrifice our
time, gifts, energy, belongings and anything else for the sake of gaining in
the ultimate. Do you have something that you can give up for another person to
be well? That is what we are talking about. Do you have a talent that you can
share with others so that they are blessed? That is what we are talking about.
We pray
against the spirit and powers of selfishness. We pray against hate and hatred. We
pray against envy. We pray against rumormongering. We pray against sickness,
disease and death. In all things we pray that God’s perfect plan shall be
fulfilled in our lives that is the plan to prosper us; to give us a future and
a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). All other gods are works of men and they are but mere counterfeits but
our God is the true and everlasting God who does not pride in seeing a sinner
die but repent and turn back to Him and live! We choose life today and the days
to come.
I pray for leaders at all levels. May God grant us wisdom and understanding. May we lead God’s people in the way of truth. May we disassociate ourselves from any form of evil but work towards wellness and wellbeing of all those that God has entrusted unto our care.
May we all work towards true love for one another in this month, remembering that no one is an island; that we need each other at every point of our lives.
Best regards.
