THE CALL FOR UNITY IN FAITH | ROBERT MUGISA ABWOOLI
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 9, 2024
I start by cutting the long story short ... Yes, just like that.
My name is Robert Mugisa Abwooli; male adult Ugandan of sound mind; the first born of six. I am grateful to God for the blessing of life. I am currently on the fourth floor, room number one.
First
forward,
The
year was 2009 and I had just completed Law School at Makerere University.
I was supported by a Friend-Turned-Brother, Adyeeri Job Rwebembera Asiimwe to join Law Development Centre in 2010...
In
2011, I can't remember everything but I got to know that my brother (fourth
born), Brian Kaija Ateenyi was not well. After all was said and done, Brian rested and returned to his maker at age 18.
Life
went on until 2014 when another sibling, Daniel Katongole Araali (sixth
born) was held by sickness and despite every effort to save him, he rested and returned to his maker at age
16.
In
2017, Herbert Businge Amooti (third born) got sick and
despite all that we could do as family and friends (including having him moved to and from India), he rested and returned to his maker at age 26.
In
2023, after some time of sickness and all that, Dad (Adyeeri) rested and returned to his maker at age 63.
As I write and edit this article in September 2024, we are going through a hard time and situation as family because Simon Peter Talemwa Atwooki (fifth born) is sick and can't seem to hold life together. He is in pain despite many attempts to restore his life back to normal.
It is at this point that I call for unity in faith to pray fervently that Simon shall live, see and tell more of the goodness of God in this land of the prosperous.
Yes, we are praying and trusting that God is God of all mankind and that nothing is too hard for him (Jeremiah 32:27). His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Family
and friends are here to stand with us and indeed, we are encouraged.
We
believe that God can restore Simon and each of us that are remaining ...
I
keep thinking that this is tight but get consoled by the fact that Mom
(Adyeeri) has been through this from day one to day last; day one to day
last; day one to day last and, day one to day last. I have to be strong for
her; for Simon; for Josephine; for the family(ies) and for everyone else in my circle(s).
So much is going through my mind while I write this information at a stop-over
before I can re-embark on this long journey but I can't and can never tell what is
going through the mind and heart of Simon, Mom, Josephine and all members of
our family, our friends and well-wishers.
Before Dad gave up his spirit and left this world, he acknowledged and mentioned that we had remained as few members and his charge was "mugonzangane" literally and intentionally meaning "love one another."
That is what we are doing and shall do all the
days of our lives... to the very end of time.
By
way of conclusion, for now;
We will not give up on God;
We will not hide;
We
will not lament.
We will not fear;
We
will not be shaken.
Sickness is not the end;
Death is not the end;
God is all in all.
May His Will be done,
Here
on earth,
As
it is in heaven.
We
declare and prophesy,
That
after all is said and done,
We will fear God and obey his commands (Ecclesiastes 12:13).
God's
grace is sufficient.
I pray for you as I pray for myself;
As long as God gives us life and strength.
