WEEKLY DEVOTION WITH RMA | FOCUS A LITTLE BIT MORE | IT HELPS

PHILIPPIANS 3:14-17

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Welcome to this new week, the last one in the month of July, 2024.

God is good, all the time and all the time, God is good and that is His nature, wow!

Indeed, we give glory to God because He is faithful (Thessalonians 5:23-24).

There are people who have asked me why I refer to God as Him/His and my answer has always been that this has nothing to do with anything. It is my view and opinion about God; that is how I have referred to him from time immemorial.

This is a good week where we ought to keep our minds open for new thoughts, challenges and opportunities. We must be able to focus a little bit more than we did yesterday or the other day, week, month and year.

One thing that has kept us where we are is that we have allowed ourselves to stay focused on the red-light even when it had moved from red to yellow to green. Even though we are the ones next to the lights, we must recognize that that the road is single-carrier and that there are people queued behind us. If we don’t move, they will not move. The result will be hooting, grumbling, unnecessary noise and delays, loss of opportunities, name it.

At my age and experience, I am very certain that there is nothing that is too hard for God (Jeremiah 32:27). If He has created us and placed us here on earth, I am sure that He has a purpose and reason that we must continue to speak into one day at a time. We must move towards our purpose so that when it is time for us to arrive or to leave, we should be able to sit, relax and speak about the short or long journey that we moved. Everyone must have a story to tell about their lives. A good story at that.

I encourage us to appreciate who we are no matter where we are in life. Some of us truly appreciate the fact that we have gone through so much pain to the level that pain to the level that we no longer feel pain.  Some of us have gone through so much suffering that we no longer see or feel suffering. Then there are some of us who have gone through so much misery that they no longer see misery. Some of us have heard so many words about us that we no longer hear words from anyone. Do we relate? I think so.

Our part this week is to focus a little more on the things of people that matter the most. First is God the Creator. Next is you and yourself. Next is the people who surround you; the people we refer to in law as “neighbors”. These are people, whether your spouse, child(ren), relatives, friends, in-laws, name them who will be directly affected in one way or another by your action(s) or inaction(s). https://www.lawteacher.net/cases/donoghue-v-stevenson.php#decision

I pray for us today. I commit us to God today. May we see and tell more about God’s goodness in this land of the living. May we live to advance in all goodness.

I speak fire that burns every chuff to consume all our problems, issues and destructions or devastations. May that fire consume any negative voices that rise against or towards us. May that fire consume every disease and illness in our bodies and surrounding so that we will live healthy and prosperous lives.

I speak excellence upon our leaders at all levels. I speak favor upon all professionals that as they execute their mandates, they shall apply wisdom that comes from heaven above so that God's people shall live to enjoy life to its fullness.

  1. Thank you for the message. I have been encouraged that God has a purpose for my life. What matters most in my life is God, then myself and the people around me. Be blessed
