THE MONTH OF MAY 2024 | CUT/REDUCE/AVOID THAT PRESSURE
LUKE 21:34
“Be careful, or your hearts
will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and
that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
This
is the 21st day of May 2024. It sounds as though we may have to take some
time off and fast as we pray over a range of issues in and around our lives. We
thank God who has brought us this far! We could never have got this far on our
own. It has been only by God’s grace, love and mercy.
It was
yesterday, Monday 20th May 2024 that we received news of the death
of the Iranian President – Ebrahim Raisi and the Foreign Minister - Hossein
Amirabdollahian together with other passengers aboard the helicopter that
crashed. We had also woken up to news that that seven people had perished in a
car accident as they returned from a family function. Unlike the usual or
common accidents of collisions, this was peculiar in a sense that the vehicle
swerved off into a water stream at about 4:00am and was submerged. How does/would/can
one explain this this/that?
Do you
realise that in many cases, we watch or listen to news and that is it? Of
course, you may ask me what I think you should do in reality? My answer is
simple. Pray for everyone, especially those facing or going through tough
situations including families and people who have recently lost loved their
ones.
Let us
also remember to pray for those who are sick whether in homes or medical
facilities and those who are taking care of them. Sickness is one of the
“distorters” of growth and development. We must raise a united voice to God,
our Creator to hear us, have mercy upon us and, deliver us from all evil, pain
and misery. Personally, I have and know of relatives (including in-laws) and
friends who have been ill for quite some time. I might not have much to do
about their conditions but I know that when I pray and trust that God who heals
shall delivers us, He will remember them and help them sooner than later.
This
is the day that God has made and our task is simple; to rejoice and be glad in
it. You might not have noticed or even thought about the fact that we are left
with just eleven days to complete the month of May. Please note that and at the
same time remember that it is not obvious that we will get to the last day of
the month. It is only through faith that we hope to see a new day – tomorrow.
That’s how and why we are able to plan for the day and reflect on what we wish
to achieve by the end of the month. It’s not too late.
I
thank God for all those who celebrated different evets of their lives. We are
blessed every time we get invited to celebrate life with family and friends. We
give glory to God every time we join family and friends to talk about life and
share happy moments that ultimately turn into sweet memories. That is the true
way of life.
Do you
have a question or questions in/about life? Are you troubled by what is going
on around your life? Please cut/reduce that pressure that is seemingly piling
up within your heart and life. I am certain that there are situations that come
in life and we have control over them. However, there are those that come and
no amount of personal effort could set in to resolve or deal with the
situation. The best recommendation here is to surrender to the Creator who has
the script from which and everyone’s life was predetermined. Let us stand up
tall and speak truth at all times.
I
conclude by speaking to some parents within our communities and the nation at
large. God has given us ability to work, reason through everything and also
produce wealth. I thank God for parents who are ready to take children back to
school with all that they need. Special attention and prayers go to parents who
are not yet certain or ready regarding where the fees and requirements shall
come from. May you cut/reduce the pressure. God is in the business and habit of
making sure that all those who trust in him shall never be disappointed. There
is hope that all will work out well for His own glory, honor and praise.
I
continue to come against the plans and schemes of the evil one. I declare and
proclaim that the enemy has no control of our lives. Instead, we receive the
good plans that God has for us and we do continue to walk in them. I declare that in all things, we are more than
conquerors through Christ Jesus. Amen.
