WEEKLY DEVOTION WITH MUGISA ABWOOLI | 05-12.02.2024

GROWING INTO NEW STRENGTH: SOWING SEED

LUKE 8:11-15

11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

Good morning! Good day!

Welcome to this new week where we put our past behind and focus on the present and future.

It is such a wonderful privilege to be alive today, leave alone the fact that we are well or unwell. The focus is on life here. The rest can always fall in place.

We thank God that children are fully back to school and all the glory, honor and praise goes back to God. Amen.

My dear Family, Relatives, Friends, Everyone;

When everything around you is moving on well, you are likely to forget that there are other places where things are at standstill. I mentioned somehow in the recent past that people are sick in hospitals and there are many who have passed away. Life is real and, death is real too. We can not take life nr can we take death for granted. Both are God’s innovation and He knows the secret behind each of them. Let us commit more to the one who created us and has allowed us to live to see another moment in life.

In relation to the portion of Scripture that we have read, my concentration is on the fact that the seed is the Word of God. This Word is contained in the Bible (for the believing Christians). In this Word and through it, we find all that we need for life, encouragement and breakthrough.

I know for sure that when you plant seed/God’s Word on fertile ground, you will definitely get a good harvest to the tune of hundred-fold or more/above. This is the week where we should be very careful about where we plant our seed(s). We should be very careful what we say and to whom we say it because each word shall grow in one way or another. Whether for a short time or forever, each word we speak will have some impact on people’s lives.

Let us celebrate with those who celebrate; let us grieve with those who grieve. I know for sure that whether it is joy or pain, today it is me, tomorrow it will be someone else. Let us live in the moment together so that when joy or pain come into the arena of any of us, we will be there for each other.

We pray for all families that God’s love and peace shall prevail;

We pray for all leadership and management at all levels – political, religious, cultural;

We pray for all employers and employees;

We pray for all business persons at all scales;

We pray for all professionals;

We pray for all parents; guardians; custodians; matrons and all children;

May God reign.

We come against any powers and forces of evil. Whatever plan(s) the enemy(ies) might plot against us, we cancel in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare and proclaim that we are more than conquerors. We are winners and we will win more today and in days to come. Amen.

  1. Very inspirational, we are reminded to read the word of God because it will inspire to do and say words that can give life to others. Glory be to God. Thank you for the message
