FEBRUARY 2024 | THE PERFECT TAKE-OFF | Mugisa Abwooli
Hello Family, hello Friend;
All passengers on-board…
This is Captain Robert Mugisa
Abwooli thanking you for choosing to travel with me on this journey of life. This
is the first day of February 2024 and we expect to travel at a certain height
above sea level. I am sure that the weather shall remain as good though we
expect some turbulence along the way. I request us to keep our seat belts
fastened until we receive further communication. God is in control and we hope to
cross over to the remaining months of the year together in peace and harmony.
Enjoy your flight.
I thank God for the gift
of life that each of us has. It is very amazing to know that we have been
spared in one way or another. Yesterday, 31st January 2024, I went
to Mulago Hospital to pick up Dad’s certificate and while there, I was hit by the reality that
while there is life elsewhere, there are deaths occurring almost every minute somehwere else! Bodies
are being sent to the mortuary every day and relatives, friends are faced with
pain of loss and separation of/from loved ones. So, if we are alive, let us
give THANKS to GOD; much more if you and loved ones are intact without any
feeling of sickness or loss. But even if we are faced with challenges including
ill-health, we can trust God for deliverance and breakthrough. At least, we are alive!
God is good? All the time.
And all the time? God is good and that is His nature, wow! We speak this with a
standing ovation unto our God. He is great! Amen.
Alright. Let’s reflect on this for this month:
1. Life Goes On; Work Hard and Forward
Philippians
3:13-14 Brothers
and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one
thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the
goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. |
It doesn’t really matter that you are who you are and yet it matters a lot, ironically, to be mindful of who you are. I say that life goes on no matter who you are because when you think of it, there are all categories of people here-living. The wealthy and rich; the broke and poor; the short; tall; educated; sick; healthy; educated; illiterate; funny; serious; jobless; employed; disappointed; happy; melancholic; rejected; accepted; name it. But that hasn’t stopped life from moving on. We must be able to accept the situation at hand while we work towards the positive aspects of life. If we are sick, we must pray for healing; if we are down-cast, we must pray for strength and encouragement; in all ways, we must seek to win.
2. Cover Yourself Up
Ephesians 6:11-13 Clothe yourselves with
the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of
the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the
rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against
the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you
may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything,
to stand. |
The world is cruel and
harsh. Each of us needs to find a covering for our lives both in the physical
and spiritual. The harsh weather including the coldness of the night needs a
blanket or bedsheet but the harshness of/in the spirit needs a covering of the
spirit of God. I remember one Saturday in the month of January 2024 when, while
working with one of my friends to change the car tyre, the jerk tilted and the
car exerted pressure on my left hand, almost crashing it. The covering of the
Spirit of God and His protection is what saved me and though I feel some mild
pain, at least, I was spared and I believe that within a week, this pain shall
disappear.
3. 3. Treat Everyone with Love and Respect
Romans 12:10: Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Matthew 7:12: Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. |
How will you go through
this world/life if you do not respect yourself and others? I wonder! That said, it
is golden to treat everyone with love and respect no matter who they are; whether
we know them or not. At the start and end of each day, all that shall remain in
the memories of people is the good feeling you brought to their lives. Well,
some will remember the pain and hurt but that is not our focus. We focus on the
positive vibe. That is what is up for February 2024.
The Prayer:
Almighty and Heavenly
Father,
Thank you being our
Creator and God. Thank you for being our ever-present help in time(s) of need.
Thank you for being GOD and good to us. How we pray and indeed, we pray that you
alone shall continue to be exalted and magnified in us, both now and forevermore.
Take your number one place even in this second month of the year as we commit
the remaining time(s). Defend and protect us from the hand of the evil one and
help us to overcome in all situations, at all times, in Jesus’ name, amen.
We pray for all children who are going back to school and those who are already at school. We pray for all parents, relatives, guardians, caretakers, teachers. May God's hand of protection be upon all of us so that through education, our children shall exalt God even more in the different spheres and places of life. Amen.
Wishing you a fruitful
Februaury.
