WEEKLY DEVOTION WITH RMA | MONDAY JUNE 12, 2023

Topic: NO ONE KNOWS BUT YOU: UNDERSTANDING THE TIMES

Scripture: LUKE 12:54-56

Then Jesus said to the people, “When you see clouds growing bigger in the west, you say, A rainstorm is coming.’ And soon it begins to rain. When you feel the wind begin to blow from the South, you say, ‘it will be a hot day.’ And you are right. You hypocrites! You can understand the weather. Why don’t you understand what is happening now?”

Praise God!

It is a wonderful new day, new week in which we have the opportunity to refresh and restart our systems (mind, body, and soul). Yes!  Thank God!

I return all the glory, praise and honor to Him who deserves it all; the one who gives me and all of us strength to do what we do. That is God our Creator through whom we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28).

I am not so certain about where you are, who you are with and what is going on in your life but I have this faith within me that you are in a good place, with the right person/people and that everything within and around you is fine. That is my prayer for you.

We are called upon to keep watch and pray at all times because the times we live in are dynamic. They haven’t been stable but we believe that a point will come in time when all storms shall be over.

I thank God for the achievements of last week and pray that God will help us achieve more this week.

I stand with people who have sick ones and those who have lost loved ones in the most recent passed. May you continue to find strength and comfort in God alone who is always with us in good and bad times.

We just completed a week where the President of the Republic of Uganda took forced live after testing positive for COVID-19; where child labor is reported to be a big challenge as reported during the commemoration of World Day against Child Labor; where discussions continue around the recently passed Anti Homosexuality Act 2023; where the economy continue to press the citizenry; among others.

When we see and hear of all that is surrounding us, we cannot afford to be silent but rather, PRAY to the God of heaven and earth that things will get better for everyone.

In that regard, I call upon each of us to:

  1. Look at life from a positive angle knowing that no one is better off than you; everyone is struggling in one way or another. Pray that struggling will end and you live life to its fullness each moment of your life.
  2. Do not over give yourself to people; do not over trust or depend on people. Depend on God for He is known to keep our deepest secrets and to understand us better than anyone else. Remember, people have their own concerns but God’s number one concern is you.
  3. Appreciate that the times could be difficult but they can also change. Nothing in this world lasts forever and nothing in this world can satisfy. Only in God do we have a cup that will never run dry. Just when you think you are at the edge of dropping off due to thirst and lack, God refills your cup.
  4. Continue to speak into what you want to see and it will come to pass. Speak into your enemy or enemies and pray that God will help you to have enough grace to love your enemies and to pray for them and as you do that, you will overcome evil with good, always.

I wish you a fruitful and peaceful week.
