REFLECTION ON THE WEEK (JUNE 19 - 25, 2023) | ROBERT MUGISA
Each week starts in its own way and format. Who knows what will happen next? No one, except the one who created time.
I am glad you and your loved ones are here to see this day and week. There are those who haven't made it this far. It's not because we are so special or something, but because of God's wonderful mercy and grace.
My dear friend, as you may be aware, we live in the realities of life and time. Quite a lot is going on in our country Uganda. Part of it is good but the other is bad and really challenging. I know of people who have celebrated good times in the most recent past including birthdays, marriage, receiving of babies and new members into their homes and families, among others. Glory to God!
I am also aware that there are families which have lost loved ones in different circumstances including the people among whom were students who died in the recent attack on Lhubiriha Secondary School in Mpondwe, Kasese district. https://www.monitor.co.ug/uganda/news/national/three-arrested-as-security-issues-measures-after-kasese-school-attack-4275194
May God strengthen and comfort the families of the bereaved.
As we continue to live, move and have our being this week, let us remain as open minded as possible. The good and bad times of last week are in the past. We must re-strategise and move on to more celebration of life. Should challenges come our way, we must be prepared to face them with the mind of winners, always remembering that we have a God who never leaves us, never forsakes us.
No doubt, there are many people who need our love and support. Let's reach out to them as much as possible. In doing this, we should be able to speak out when we feel that we are not able to assist. There are times in life (especially for those in authority or in positions of responsibility) when we feel we are strong enough to carry every burden that comes our way. This is quite unrealistic because we are human and have limits. Otherwise, we will end up breaking down. Being truthful to ourselves and the people around us shall go a long way in shaping and enhancing our wellbeing not only mentally but also physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Let's be good to ourselves and just as much as to all humanity.
Lastly, let's make prayer and communication part of our lifestyle. Whatever comes our way can be handled well if we constantly consult with the one who created heaven and earth. We are reminded of what is written in Psalm 121 that we look up to the hills; that our help shall come from nowhere else except form the Lord God Almighty who created heaven and earth. Glory to his Holy name. We stand in awe of Him.
I declare and proclaim that we are more than conquerors and that our enemies are already defeated. We have already overcome whatever is laid before and against us. We have escaped the trap of the evil one. We will not die this week but will live to see, experience, and tell God's goodness to the ends of the earth. Now and forevermore, amen.
Wishing you the very best of the day and days ahead.
Robert MUGISA Abwooli.
Thank you and Glory 🙏 be to the living Almighty God.
