WEEKLY DEVOTION WITH ROBERT MUGISA ABWOOLI
MONDAY 29TH MAY 2023
TOPIC: TAKE HEART, THIS IS NOT THE END
SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 40:28-31
Do you not know? Have you not
heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He
gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths
grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the
Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will
run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
My dear and loving friend,
Good morning! See what the Lord
has done! We are into a new day and week! I can assure you that this is not my
own nor is it your own making. It is the grace and mercy of God.
As we step into this week, let us
remember that the pressures of this world leave us with no option but to grow
weary and in many instances, we experience a draining of our energies. We are
vulnerable and almost have no way of helping ourselves. Indeed, we cannot help
ourselves.
As parents take children back to
school, it is most likely that many of them are weary because either they do
not see the money needed for requirements or fees or they are just into so much
that they do not know where to start from. There are parents who took loan at
the beginning of the year thinking that they would have broken through and
cleared by now but instead, they are in a worse place or state than they were
and are looking for another loan! God have mercy.
I recognize that there are people
who are bed ridden right now and their relatives are weary and worried about
what might happen next. May God intervene. And yes, there are people who have
just lost or recently lost a loved one… May God intervene and strengthen the
family.
On the flip side of life, there
are people whose lives are moving on well to the point that they do not know
what pain or suffering means; they don’t relate at all with growing tired or
weary. How I pray that God will sustain all of us in this joy and happiness.
It is therefore my humble appeal
this day and week that we will remember that GOD GIVES STRENGTH TO THE WEAK AND
TO THE WEARY. God is not man that he should lie or son of man that he should
change His mind if He has said it, He will do it for us (Numbers 23:19); … He is
giving us new strength for today, tomorrow and the days to come.
I stand in the authority given to
me in Mathew 18:18 to bind all powers of retardation and
backwardness; I come against yokes of bondage; I come against any negativity
this day and week. Instead, I release myself and everyone here-living into a
peaceful and settled life. I speak and declare today that we will not die but
live to tell more of God’s good deeds in this land of the living and prosperous
(Psalm
118:17). Amen.
Wishing you a very fruitful week.
Robert Mugisa Abwooli.
