MARCH IS DONE, APRIL IS HERE: EVERYONE DESERVES BETTER
The person you want to run to for assistance has been thinking about running to you as well. The person you are admiring as being well off is busy wishing they had a simpler life probably like yours. My friend, you are the best we have ever found. You may not be all-sufficient but I know you are better off than you think.
My imaginative mind reveals that the more we think we have issues, the more issues think they have us. Simple truth remains that everyone born of woman is of few days and full of trouble (Job 14:1-2). We wake up each day trying our best to get all that we need for each day. But in all this, we need to take heart knowing that we have a Creator who encourages us to keep on keeping on; to wait upon him because those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31). We may and we can learn to live life one day at a time.
Welcome to the month of April, 2023!
I give glory, honor and praise to God Almighty for carrying us through the past years and the months of January, February and March 2023. Personally, I can't say that I had or have a clear formula on how I would have made it or how I will make it but what I have done and will continue to do is trust and obey God, my Creator, the author and finisher of my faith (Hebrews 12:2-3).
Being a Lawyer and Human Rights Defender has in one way or another put me in the spotlight of meeting and interacting with quite a number of people on a daily basis and has also granted me the opportunity to understand what issues I must pray for concerning myself, the people I have met and those I am yet to meet. Each of us must appreciate who we are and the context within which we live.
My dear friend (parent, relative, human being), this life gives us real experiences not stage acts. We wake up each day to face reality. As such, we will have good or easy times at some point and tough or rough ones at another. We will celebrate certain victories and achievements along the way but will also come face to face with sickness/illness, pain, suffering, and death. Will we deny that? No! It's the reality.
As we proceed with the month of April, allow me make some declarations and affirmations:
- We have already overcome the challenges of this world because we know they will come and we are prepared for them (John 16:33).
- If we work towards positivity, our relatives and friends who had seen or still see us as no-bodies shall begin to see the grace of God upon us and they will come to apologise for all the pain and hurt they caused us. We will receive them and welcome them – we can’t dwell on the past (Isaiah 43:18-19).
- We will show love and support to the vulnerable and the broken-hearted. We will be there when need arises. We will look out for people who have been considered to be vulnerable and we will pray with them to see God's hand and move in their lives; to have a reason to move on in hope that tomorrow will be better and brighter than today (Proverbs 31:8-9).
- Everyone plotting evil against us is already defeated because we have known them and we are speaking into their lives that whatever plans they have against us shall not succeed. No weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
- Whoever has a dream for advancement in life… we speak into that dream(s) to come to pass this month and this season. We must see change for better (Acts 2:17).
Smile and throw out all hatred, envy, poverty, negativity, failure ... They should have no space or time in your life. Otherwise, they will never take you anywhere. Again, this is the reality.
I love
you, I pray for you.
