WEEKLY DEVOTION WITH ROBERT MUGISA ABWOOLI | 13TH TO 19TH MARCH 2023

THE STORM IS OVER NOW | Mark 4:37-39

“… A furious squall came up and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown? He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm…

  • Good morning and welcome to this day and week where we get into a new horizon(s). I request you to take a moment ranging from thirty seconds and above to say “Thank you God, I am alive today! Thank you for my people. Thank you indeed, O Lord.”
  • As we get along with this day and week, we thank God for the positive events of our lives including the celebration of International Women’s Day on 8th March and enthronement on Sunday  12th March 2023 of Rev. Onesmus Asiimwe as the sixth Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese.
  • We remember, stand and pray with/for people who faced and are still facing challenges of different kinds including sickness or loss of loved ones. We remember the family of the late Justice Kenneth Kakuru and other families. May God strengthen and comfort you/them.
  • We pray for healing and mending of the broken-hearted. We pray for families that there shall be peaceful coexistence and calming of every storm that could be resident therein.
  • As a matter of fact, life is real and it moves on. It just depends on how we look at everything and everyone around us. We pick from today’s text to note that as the disciples moved with Jesus, it was a good set off on a journey to go over to the other side… but along the way, a tough storm raged and it was then that they remembered they were with someone who would fix the issue at hand.
  • At individual, family and national level, a storm or storms might be raging and you are wondering who will calm it. For the believers, I share good news with you that God through Christ can calm every storm and people around you will wonder what kind of strength you have on the inside of you! Testify and tell them that it is Christ Jesus.
  • We pray against any form of diversion from the truth of God’s word. We pray that we will live to love one another and to care for each other including bearing and carrying each other’s burden(s) if that is what it shall require.
  • Ultimately, we look forward to a week where God’s grace shall be manifested in our lives. We pray that God connects us to people and personalities who will calm tough situations in our lives today, tomorrow and the days to come.
  • We cancel every evil plot or plan that is fashioned against us. We pray for protection and a covering of God’s Spirit upon each of us; that every time the enemy shall seek to locate us, its signal shall be diverted into several other directions away from us. I pray for my wife and children as points of contact for all spouses and children out there. May God watch over you/them.
  • We declare and proclaim that our storm is over; it was calmed by Christ and so we shall live in peace, sail on/through and see more of God’s goodness in this land of the prosperous.
  • We pray that for everything we think of/about and touch or work upon, it shall advance and prosper. Amen.
  • Wishing you and loved ones the very best in all.
