SIMPLE REFLECTION WITH RMA | THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2022 | LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD
This
is the day that GOD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24).
This
is the month that GOD has given us, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Rejoicing
and being glad is personal. It is a choice that we take for our own benefit and
for our own good. It comes from within and we must be careful not to let anything
take away our rejoicing and gladness.
Let
us thank God for the past seven months and look to HIM to take us through
August, the remaining months of the year and many more years to come. HE is
faithful to the very end.
Let
us take a moment(s) and think about the many challenging situations and times
we had or faced in the most recent past. As individuals, we may have been
overwhelmed but also as families or nation(s), the challenges may have been
quite something; quite heavy. The good news is that we went through all of
them, never to see them again. We are prepared to face today, tomorrow and many
other tomorrows.
Let
us take a moment(s) and reflect on the many good things we have received in the
past and most recent past. We can boldly say that God has been on our side
through the planning and the celebration(s). There are tangible things and
happy moments that came our way even before we thought or prayed about them; we
didn’t place so much effort but we received the blessings in time. Let us be
grateful through thanksgiving to our enabler.
We
thank God for the gift and blessing of children. Some of them are of school
going age and have either received or are yet to receive their holidays. May
God defend and protect them against all harm and grant them wisdom during and
after the holidays. We pray that all parents shall receive God’s grace to
assist their children in advancing in life.
How do we move from here? How do we
move from this wonderful start?
We
must start from the point of calling on God’s Holy presence and Spirit to lead
us. Moses mentioned clearly that if the presence and Spirit of God wasn’t going
with them, they were better off not going or moving from that place (Exodus 33:15).
Zechariah mentioned that it was not going to be by might nor by power, but by
the Spirit of GOD that that victory would come through and accomplishments
would be reached (Zechariah 4:6).
We
must wear and move in God’s own strength. It is written in Psalm 118:14 that God
is our strength and defense; he has become our salvation. Let us pick courage
and face life well knowing that with God on our side, we are more than conquerors.
Let us call on God’s name in good and hard times and for sure, He will come to
our help and rescue. Let us love one another to the point of defending and
respecting each other’s dignity, rights and freedoms.
We
continue to speak against any evil plan(s) directed towards us. We declare that
we are children of God and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. We declare
that our nation(s) belong to God who is our fortress; in whom we live, move and
have our being. We are a chosen generation, called forth to show God’s
excellence.
We
hope for the very best.
