WE ARE ALIVE FOR A REASON | WE ARE HERE TO GIVE THANKS
REFLECTIONS OF RMA
Welcome to the month of June, 2022. The engine is ignited, we can adjust the gear to drive mode and accelerate.
It is a new day, the first of the month. It's a new opportunity to live again.
The cycle moves on to the extent that today is here, tomorrow is waiting to show up as well.
As long as the sun rises, we are sure that by God's grace, it will set.
At or in the night, we sleep off the realities of the world and yet wake up to the same. It means that if we are not careful, we might live this life in the same shape and form we were in the previous day yet today is totally different from yesterday. You get? Yes.
Over the past one few or many days, we have received sad and disturbing news of accidents, sickness and deaths. We have witnessed some cases or have been involved, some how.
We take a moment to reflect on the fact that even then, we managed to keep moving and were not swallowed up by the situation(s). Praise be to God who knows the secret behind our being alive to date.
On the other hand, we have also celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, have married and got married and commemorated key life events. We thank God for that.
Indeed, we do appreciate every moment of our living. The irony is that life is short yet long enough if we live it to the full according to what's written in John 10:10; that the devil came to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came that we may have life and have it in abundance. Praise God!
There is a general feeling and hope that today is better than yesterday; that tomorrow will be better than today; that next month will be better than this month. We even have a song to that effect, "my tomorrow must be greater than my today.
But have you wondered why you seem to be scared of tomorrow? It could be because you have lost hope about the future. All you see is failure and hopelessness! There are many times when our previous or most recent experiences blur the entire picture that we can't see the full image clearly of a better day ahead.
For crying out loud, we cannot stay in the same place. We need to move and move on. Every step in the forward direction takes us ahead.
We only remain where we are the moment we feel that all is well with us, all bills are paid and we have enough movies arranged for the next thirty to thirty one days of the month. If that's not the case, where else are we deriving comfort from? How come we can lay in that Sofa all day long and simply press the remote buttons searching for the next interesting item to watch? No offence, really.
Even in the spiritual sense, we do emphasize that we should pray as though we have no work to do and work as though we have no prayers to make. Friends, prayer goes with hard work and for the human rights context, human rights enjoyment comes with coinciding responsibilities.
If we must please God, we must be able to work hard . If we must enjoy rights, we must respect fellow human beings. Do you really want me to explain that deeper? No! It is self explanatory. Let each one love each one; let's share in each other's joys and stand with each other in moments of hurt and pain.
One day at a time, we will complete the year.
Alright. Let's get back to work. We will read the next piece as shall be availed.
I remain yours truly, RMA.
