JULY 2021 IS A GOOD MONTH: A TEXT TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Dear Beloved, Praise God!
My
name is Robert Mugisa Abwooli. I am grateful to God for the gift of life that
we still have. Praise God, again and again. Yes, it is always a good thing to
praise God in all circumstances, at all times. He deserves all honor. He is a
great God. No one is like him. Psalm 34:1: “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually
be in my mouth.”
Welcome
to the month of July, 2021. It is the seventh month of the year and when I look back
at where we have come from, all I can say is Ebenezer, God has been good. We’ve
moved one day at a time through January, February, March, April, May and June.
Honestly, we didn’t have a formula or design of how we were going to journey
through but here we are, still living, still breathing. It can only by God’s
grace for it is through him that we live, move and have our being. Glory to his
Holy name! Acts 17:28: “For in him we live and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.”
I know and acknowledge that some of us have had challenges along the way including falling sick/ill, losing close relatives and loved ones, missing job opportunities or having cuts in financial flows, losing personal or family property, had tough legal battles, among others.
Let me
encourage us with the fact that God had already foreseen these when he spoke
through his son, Jesus Christ in John 16:33 to say: “I have
told you these things so that you may have peace. In this world you will have
trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world.” Praise God! In
other words, let’s beware that if Christ has already overcome the world, we
too, have overcome even before trials and temptations come our way. Let’s face
every storm with the attitude of “we have already overcome.” For we know that
in all these, we are more than conquerors through Christ. Romans 8:37: “No, in all these
things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
As Uganda goes through the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am hopeful that through our prayers of faith and through our unity as a nation, we will have healing and deliverance upon our land. All we need to do is humble ourselves before the Lord, God of all might and pray, seek his face, repent and turn away from our sinful ways. 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Our God
is slow to anger and abounding in love/mercy. Psalm 86:15: “But you, Lord, are
a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and
faithfulness. Let’s continue to approach his throne of grace where we
shall find mercy and grace to help us in time of need. Hebrews 4:16: “Let us
then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive
mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
July is a good month. I speak by faith that the
challenges we faced in the previous years and months, we will see no more. Exodus
14:13: “Moses
answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the
deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will
never see again.” I encourage us to trust God more and lean not on our own understanding.
Let’s acknowledge Him as God and commit to him everything about us and he will
direct our walk. Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on
your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths
straight.
I speak and proclaim that whatever plan our
enemies may have against us will NOT prosper. We are children of the Most High
God and we confess that no weapon formed against us shall prevail. We have
overcome the enemy and we are moving on in victory. We are forward marching.
Our God is fighting and winning every battle. Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon forged
against you will prevail and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and this is their vindication
from me,” declares the Lord.”
Let’s
pray together in
accordance with Mathew 6:9-13:
Our Father, who is in heaven; hallowed be your
name, your kingdom come. May your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven;
give us this day, our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
all evil. For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, now and
forevermore, amen.

Thank you for the encouragement
