WHERE WOULD I BE WITHOUT "MOTHER" | Robert Mugisa Abwooli
WHERE WOULD YOU BE WITHOUT "MOTHER?"
A LETTER TO MY MOTHER(S) AND MY CHILDREN'S MOTHER
I can testify that I am a product of my parents
- Dad and Mom.
The way they met, I may never explain. They related and had
time together.
When Mom realised she was pregnant, it was a journey that she
had started to motherhood.
Nine months later, she bore a son, who was named Mugisa and
baptised Robert, a name that stands for "fame" that I have enjoyed
since childhood. I am yet to enjoy more of the benefits of being alive today.
This is a joint letter to everyone I call mother and the beautiful mother to
our children:
Dear Mother,
I write to you from the comfort of my living room, which I
attribute to your great effort in raising me to be the man that I am today.
Thank you for bearing the pain carrying me for the nine
months in the womb, and once I was born, for seeing me through the early stages
of life to growth into adulthood. Today, the 10th day of May, 2020, I write to
say that I appreciate you, with all of me. I remember the days you told me to
always be smart; the many times you told me that in order to be great, I had to
be humble and serve whoever crossed my path, whether I knew them or not;
whether they were young or old. I remember the sleepless nights you spent when
I was sick, braving the dark nights to take me to hospital to save my life. You
won and the victory belongs to God.With the assistance of Dad, you helped me to
grow into the youthful Christian boy with a passion to serve the Lord. I am
happy to have been guided to the truth of God's Word that has consistently
helped me to realise my purpose in life. Had it not been for you, Mom, I don’t know what I would have become.
You saw me through my preparations for marriage that gave me
a wife who has since turned into a mother to our children; your grandchildren.
To you Abooki, I can only continue praying that God grants
you more grace to help me grow stronger in the knowledge of love and ministry
towards you and our dear children. I pray that God will help you fulfil all
the dreams in your life, the greatest being raising Godly children.
I look forward to many more years on earth to love and serve
you, Mom, Abooki and the many more mothers who relate with you. God being my
helper. Amen.
Your Son,
Robert Mugisa Abwooli (RMA)
