RAYM MESSAGE: 29.5.2020 - GOD’S WORD AND ASSURANCE FOR OUR JOBS AND BUSINESSES
Praise God! Hallelujah! He is always worthy of all
praise and honor.
My name is Robert Mugisa Abwooli. I thank God for my dear wife, children, relatives, friends and the many opportunities He has given us to serve him.
I thank God for the vision bearer of this revival and the vision bearers of the RAYM Minsitry.
Let's begin our sermon like this:
Are you an employer? Employee? Business owner?
Are
you praying and hoping you are about to become an employer or employee? Do you have
a dream of owning a business/enterprise?
This
is your Word for the season. God is pleased with you and He is very ready to
help you accomplish that which He has tasked you or is about to task you with.
Right
from the beginning, God created the universe and the earth. On the earth was
planted the Garden of Eden and the first employee there was Mr. Adam. He
realized the Manager needed an assistant and that is how Eve came into the
picture. He gave them terms of reference, more of what we call a contract that
both parties had to sign. (Genesis
Chapter 2:1ff).
The
difference between Adam and us today is that Adam didn’t need to study hard to
qualify for the job of overseeing everything that His Master had created yet
today, we and our offspring have to undergo training for many years or a given
period of time to be able to suit the job description and requirements.
Nevertheless, we are still lucky to find jobs and work in different businesses
and institutions.
But why do we toil?
When
Eve (you may tell why I begin with Eve) and Adam ate from the tree that God had
instructed them not to eat from – when the breached the contract terms and
conditions, they were supposed to die. But God in his mercy, rather than the
spiritual and physical death gave options for punishment so that they could
learn and be more careful. (Genesis
3:1ff). This still applies to us that when we get jobs, we ought to hold
them dear and be careful to obey every line of the agreement.
So,
Adam would till the land to get food, Eve would have pains in child birth and
the serpent would crawl on its belly and be hit on the head by humans. I mean,
that was total loss of the originally intended job benefits – it was summary
termination! Imagine how the three walked off from God’s office. May they continued
with the blame game all the way to their homes – with the climax of sharing the
sad news with their relatives and friends, “I was sacked today…”
The prevailing situation
Friends,
we have to work. We have to be creative as we pray to God because it is clearly
written in the New Testament book of 2
Thessalonians Chapter 3:1ff that we shouldn’t be idle and that it is a
known rule – whoever doesn’t work should not eat.
With
the prevalence of Covid-19 pandemic, there is fear that a very large percentage
of employees are bound to lose their jobs. The questions I have asked myself
are: Why? How come? When will this happen? Of course, there has to be an
explanation and it has to be satisfactory or justifiable for all parties
involved.
I
thank God for those who are sure that they shall maintain their jobs. And, I say this
carefully, that I thank God for those have received news or are about to receive news
of loss of their jobs – it is not your fault, neither is it your end. It is in the design that you will
get better opportunities. Do not worry because worry adds nothing to you (Mathew 6:25-34). Besides, James 1:2-4 reminds us to consider it
pure joy whenever we face trials of many kinds because we know that the testing of
our faith produces perseverance which will finish its work so that we may be mature and complete, not lacking in
anything.
We
have agenda items to pray to God to give
us Passover like the Israelites; protect us against job loss; protect us
against reduction of salaries and; help us attain growth in our jobs/businesses
and income generating activities in and out of season. I will request us to
pray within the Word of God in Philippians
4:6-7 that calls on us not to be anxious about anything in life but
in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present
our requests to God. It’s only then that the peace of God, which
transcends all human understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ
Jesus…
I
pray for many of us who own businesses and those planning to start up after
this lock down. Let’s spread out our hands and speak into them that God will
transform our minds and bless the works of our hands that we shall see increase
– increase – increase in Jesus’ name. It is possible. Let’s think. Let’s create.
Let’s own up. The time is now!
Child
of God, begin to pray… pray along those lines… Pray in accordance with this
message.
God bless you, amen.

Amiina.
