THE EFFECT OF COVID-19 ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS Human Rights are natural entitlements that accrue to everyone by virtue of being human. They are categorized into civil, political, economic, social, cultural and, collective rights. Examples include the right to life, the right to freedom of expression, assembly, movement, the right to belong to a religion of one’s choice, the right to health, the right to education, the right to property and the right to live in a clean and healthy environment, the right to access information, among others. In the most recent past, the world was faced and continues to battle with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic brought about by the deadly Corona Virus. Statistics indicate that there are so many cases of this disease and many people have lost lives around the globe, with the worst hit being China, Italy, USA, Spain, Germany, Iran, France, Switzerland, South Korea and United Kingdom.
